Consumer & Portable Power Markets

Refrigerators, Micro/Compact Refrigerators and Beverage Coolers (Cooling Mode)

Consumer - fridge
As mentioned in the Present Markets section, standard thermoelectric
cooling has recently been making inroads into the refrigeration market. While MicroPower’s more efficient technology is expected to act as a replacement for thermoelectrics in such applications, it is also expected that MicroPower's chip efficiency will rival that of compressor-driven refrigerators and will consequently enable it to replace conventional compressor technology.

This would make all refrigerator products more efficient, free from harmful greenhouse gases, and operable in any position, which is especially important for marine and recreational vehicle (RV) use. These small units are frequently used in smaller spaces such as dormitory rooms, small apartments and hotel rooms, where the quiet operation of MicroPower’s technology is an added advantage.

Standby, Portable and Off-Grid Power (Power Mode)

Consumer - portable generator
Off-grid generators, batteries and power sources, whether as an emergency back-up supply of electricity or in certain locations where one simply cannot plug into the grid, will always be required for a variety of applications.

For fossil fuel operation, a simple gas burner is sufficient to provide the necessary heat for conversion to electricity and the MicroPower Chip appliance would be more compact that an internal combustion engine generator. External combustion has a significant environmental advantage in that combustors can produce over 90% efficient conversion of fuel to heat and combustion temperatures are low, so the process does not generate the smog-producing, nitrogen compounds found in internal combustion engine exhausts.
