(May 8th 2019) – Hamilton, Bermuda – Energy technology specialists MicroPower Global Limited today announced the appointment of Guy Swayne to the Company’s board. Guy lives in Bermuda and is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry.
Guy began his career at CT Bowring in London before moving to John Poland & Co at Lloyds in London in 1987, where he worked as Deputy Underwriter. In 1993, he left to join Willis in New York as a Vice President responsible for the production, design and placement of treaty programs for both domestic US and international clients.
Guy moved to Aon Re in Bermuda in 1996 where he was a Senior Vice President and member of the management team. Then, from 2000 to 2005, Guy acted as Executive Vice President of ACE Insurance, working in Bermuda and London and, in 2005, he was appointed Chief Underwriter (International) for ACE Tempest Re. He was then recruited to assist in the launching of Flagstone Re in 2005 where he was appointed Executive Vice President and a member of Flagstone Re’s Executive Committee.
Since 2013 he has been a Managing Principal of Nephila Capital Ltd, the oldest and largest investment manager specialising in the area of natural catastrophes and climate related risks. This is only a step away from climate change, where MicroPower plans to play its part in reducing emissions through energy efficiency.
