MicroPower and TAI Project Selected for the Defense TechConnect Summit

July 2019 Press Release

A project proposal developed jointly by MicroPower and Technology Applications, Inc. (TAI) has been selected by TechConnect to be showcased at the Defense TechConnect Summit & Expo in National Harbor, Maryland.

The proposal, drafted for NASA, sets out an approach for providing continuous power on the moon. It describes using MicroPower's thermoelectric technology together with TAI's heat-exchange technology to convert solar power into electricity, offering a potential route to solar energy without photovoltaics and to new high-temperature heat exchangers.

TechConnect has provided strategic technology prospecting and commercialisation services for more than 20 years through a large global network of innovators, vetting and connecting thousands of emerging technologies each year for industry, investment and government clients. The Defense TechConnect Summit & Expo was held 8–10 October 2019.

About MicroPower: MicroPower Global develops advanced thermoelectric generators and cooling systems that convert industrial waste heat into clean electricity. With an international patent portfolio and third-party testing and validation across NREL, the U.S. Army Research Laboratory, NIST, Bechtel-Bettis, and Texas State, MicroPower's technology operates at 3–5× the efficiency of any commercial alternative.
