Privacy Policy

The short version

If you fill in our contact form, we collect your name, email address, company and message so that we can reply to you. We do not track you, we do not use cookies, we do not run analytics, and we do not share your details with anyone for marketing. If you want your information removed, email us and we will remove it.

Everything below is the same statement in the detail the law expects.

Who is responsible for your information

MicroPower Global Limited, a company incorporated in the British Virgin Islands, is the data controller for this website. Our head office is Williams House, 4th Floor, 20 Reid Street, Hamilton, Bermuda.

What we collect, and when

There are only two ways this site collects anything about you.

1. The contact form

When you submit the form on our contact page, we receive the full name, email address, company name, subject and message that you typed. Every one of those fields is information you chose to give us. There are no hidden fields collecting anything else.

2. Ordinary server records

Like every website, our host records the technical details of each request: the IP address it came from, the page requested, the time, and the browser identifier your device sends. These records exist so the site can be operated and defended against abuse. They are not used to build any profile of you and are not linked to the contact form.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

We use the contact form details for one purpose: to read your message and reply to it, along with any follow-up correspondence that naturally arises from it. Our legal basis is legitimate interests, specifically our interest in responding to people who deliberately contact us and your interest in receiving a reply.

We deliberately do not rely on consent here, and it is worth saying why. Consent is a legal basis that has to be freely given and can be withdrawn at any moment, which would be an odd fit for the simple act of answering an email somebody sent us. Recording a plain fact about what we do is both more honest and more robust than asking you to agree to it.

Server records are kept on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure and functioning website.

What we do not do

This section is short because the list is short, and because the absence is deliberate rather than accidental.

• We set no cookies of any kind, which is why this site has no cookie banner to click away.
• We run no analytics. No Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising or tracking pixel of any sort.
• We load nothing from a third party. Our fonts, images, video and scripts all come from our own server, so no other company learns that you visited this page.
• We do not sell, rent or share your information for marketing, and we do not add you to any mailing list because you used the contact form.
• We do not make any automated decisions about you, and we do not profile you.

Who else handles your information

We use a small number of suppliers to run the site and our email. They process information on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes.

• Our website host serves the pages, keeps the server records described above, and receives contact form submissions before passing them to us.
• Our email provider and its spam filtering service carry and screen the message once it reaches us.

Some of these suppliers operate servers outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where information is transferred internationally, it is done under the safeguards those suppliers have in place for such transfers.

How long we keep it

We keep contact form correspondence for as long as the conversation is live, and for up to 24 months afterwards, so that we can pick up a thread you started. After that it is deleted. Server records are kept for the shorter period our host retains them.

If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to ask us to restrict how we use it, and to object to our using it. Because we rely on legitimate interests rather than consent, your right to object is a real one: tell us to stop and we will, unless we have a compelling reason not to that overrides your interests.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to the data protection regulator where you live.

Security

The site is served only over an encrypted connection. Access to the mailbox that receives your message is limited to the people who need it. No website can promise perfect security, but we do not collect information we do not need, which is the most reliable protection there is.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say what changed rather than quietly replacing the text.
