MicroPower customers can now order ready-to-install heat-to-power conversion systems, removing much of the integration work previously needed to deploy thermoelectric generation.
The MPG PowerBlock, PowerRing, PowerDisc and PowerLog systems provide ready-to-use solutions for a range of applications. They are solid-state thermoelectric systems that convert heat to electricity at high efficiency in extreme operating temperatures, built around MicroPower's Series 200 modules and their high-performance semiconductors, produced using the company's proprietary crystal-growth and device-manufacturing methods.
Proprietary interconnect technology allows the systems to operate in extreme temperatures, inside combustion chambers, exhaust pipes and fire boxes, or on direct flames and hot surfaces. Power output can be configured to the application, and customised systems can be built to order.
"Removing some of the complexity of the integration effort makes it possible for system developers to shorten design-to-product cycles," said Ed Sadjadi, VP of Product Development at MicroPower. "We believe this can help our customers significantly."
About MicroPower: MicroPower Global develops advanced thermoelectric generators and cooling systems that convert industrial waste heat into clean electricity. With an international patent portfolio and third-party testing and validation across NREL, the U.S. Army Research Laboratory, NIST, Bechtel-Bettis, and Texas State, MicroPower's technology operates at 3–5× the efficiency of any commercial alternative.
